You will find precisely null reasons brunches should be saved for baby showers or limited to sleepy hungover chatting with the girls. I like brunches so badly that I'll sleep in on the weekends just to merge breakfast and lunch together. So badly, that I decided to throw one for my birthday. Booze included - of course!

I am guessing that, like me, you also like to watch a good film. And I am guessing that, if you're here, you're pretty much into food as well. So I guess that, just like myself, you like to watch food on the screen. You have probably even googled the words food and movie together quite a few times, and you're likely to have come across some lists of must-see films for foodies. I thought so. And that's why I've decided to compile my own list with some of the most remarkable silver screen moments featuring food, in a selection that is not exclusive to those pictures we all know too well feature eating, cooking or baking. Oh yeah, I have gone through them all.

This post has been brewing for two months, I guess, owing to the fact that I haven't been able to capture the atmosphere I wanted to convey in the pictures that should adorn it. After coming back from New York the past week, though, and as it mostly happens after a mind broadening experience, be it feeling the vibe of a new city or simply watching a really good film, I felt compelled to change my life. Of course that with that I wasn't straigh thinking about my flat, especially considering that I've moved in just a couple of months ago, but sometimes a small change may go a long way. Sometimes, even though you may not know it, moving some furniture around is all you need to instantaneously feel more inspired and at peace with yourself and your surroundings.

This is going to be quite a long post! Here you can find an architect's insight and personal experience of moving into an empty studio apartment, some - I hope - inspiring pictures and 10 essential tips to start with when you're moving in on a budget. Because moving and furnishing a house can be a quite overwhelming task, but that doesn't mean you can't do it!

This post today is only about the basic first steps of moving in and the tips are general indications on what you must not miss! If you like this post, I may make a series of them with more detailed thoughts and tips on how to fill in the blanks after you have the basics: how to organize your studio apartment and make it look nice and neat. That may include some furniture shopping tips, some decoration tips, whatever you'ld like to see - leave your requests in the comments!

München Food Blog Day 2015

A couple of days went by, taking with them my somehow barely noticeable nine hour jet lag, the pain my whole body bore due to relentless strolling, the excruciating injury my feet sustained after several days of stepping on the same pair of birkenstock, the american flag coloured assortment of peanut m&m's I got on the last day while dragging my huge bag around times square, and the feeling of having fulfilled a dream. I had been given a shot of adrenaline, dazed by NY's fantastic ways and exquisite appeal, by how this jungle of concrete, glass and people could seem, at the same time, so unearthly colossal and ungraspable, yet so irredeemably mundane and humane.

And yet here I was, back to Munich, to greyer days and unsummery temperatures, to my one room flat that I nonetheless happen to find extremely cozy, to my unsettling current situation and the contradictory routine it has installed in my life, to my problems and a brand new exciting to-do list that got me startled from the beginning. It so happens, coming back is not that easy for those who would travel for a living. But other challenges awaited me here!

The New York story will continue some other day soon, because today I'm here to talk about the Food Blog Days 2015, that have been happening all around Germany!

Hi! I have just moved to a new flat and I'm so excited about it!! It is the first time that I actually got to get the task of furnishing and decorating my own home, and I am loving it! How could it be otherwise? I'm am a space-maker - euphemism for architect - after all. I had to keep my budget quite low and that makes me even more proud of the results I'm achieving ;) I'm truly happy with the potential that the space I'm creating possesses for being transformed into a food-shooting studio! Very soon, I'll bring you a post about furnishing and decorating a studio (one room) apartment with some specific tips and a bit of my personal experience these days!

Despite the fact that I've been living in Munich for almost two years now, and that I have had - and still have - friends living all over Switzerland, I hadn't stepped onto Swiss territory for some ten years. Not that it doesn't appeal to me... I dream about getting lost in the middle of nowhere around there some day, looking for all this awesome contemporary architecture that blossoms here and there amidst the mountains.

there is something i've always wanted to do here. at between kitchens.

that thing is... to have a travel & lifestyle side of it. because travelling is another passion of mine, and because i often feel like i could use some inside tips on what to do, where to go and what's in vogue when i find myself in a different city.

i've been postponing this small dream of mine until i get a decent camera... still no camera. i'm guessing i'll be getting one of my dream cameras soon, so i'm on the tips of my toes, ready to start wandering around and bringing you juicy news and trendy places to look for.

Cozinha de Blogs

Ontem foi um dia muito especial! Foi o dia do "Cozinha de Blogs", um evento que proporcionou a oportunidade de participar em diversos showcookings com bloggers de alguns dos meus blogs preferidos: o "No Mundo de Luísa", o "Ananás e Hortelã", o "Frango do Campo", o "Hoje para Jantar", o "Lume Brando" e o "Clavel's Cook".

Fiquei cheia de vontade de participar mal descobri o evento, em grande parte por um desejo de já há algum tempo de conhecer pessoalmente as pessoas que estão por detrás destes blogs maravilhosos, com quem trocava comentários ou mensagens na internet.

Então, ontem, como num outro Domingo qualquer, lá vim eu para o Porto depois do almoço, cheia de tralhas para as próximas semanas... mas com destino a Matosinhos. Comigo vieram a minha melhor amiga e a mãe, a quem tinha sugerido o programa por achar que elas iam gostar da ideia.

Inscrevemo-nos no showcooking de "Petiscos", da Vera Ferraz, do "Hoje para jantar..." e gostámos imenso. As receitas eram fáceis de fazer, adequadas a diferentes situações e alturas do dia, com uma apresentação de impressionar e com sucesso em qualquer mesa, como se pôde comprovar no final ;) Estava tudo delicioso e fiquei particularmente com imensa vontade de experimentar fazer os bombons de alheira e requeijão em casa!

Parabéns à Vera, pelo showcooking a que assisti, e em que esteve mesmo muito bem, e parabéns a todas por esta iniciativa fantástica, que espero que se repita! Gostei imenso de conhecer todas (são todas super simpáticas!) e de poder tirar uma foto com o grupo! Fica o desejo de mais workshops, mais receitas para partilhar e mais pessoas a desenvolverem o bichinho pela cozinha através dos blogs :)
