food is sexy.

{ beef wellington }

yesterday, while scrolling down my facebook feed, i read something that made me feel home at heart.

it was the title of an article about an upcoming book by Nelson Carvalheiro - a portuguese blogger, - about Portugal, food and travelling. as one could there read, the author believes that, especially in the north of the country, the portuguese say 'i love you' by setting food on the table and inviting you to eat it.'

this couldn't have been said better.

Facebook News

Today I'm not leaving any new recipe, I'm just announcing that I can already follow me on facebook!
These are two photos that mirror quite well the concept behing Between Kitchens: cooking with no fixed kitchen! With different ingredients, budgets, patience, time, tastes to please, appetites, ocasions, times of the day, numbers of people. One day I'll try to tell everything I feel about Between, everything it tries to express and the message I hope it sends ;)

Back from Berlin

{ cheese and cured ham meatloaf with lemon-herbs roasted potatoes }

I was waiting for the world to decide if it would end or not to publish this recipe, my lunch yesterday! Inspirated by a group of friends who are studying in Berlin, who were great for us during our stay, and welcomed us at their place with one like this!

No Lustgarten
At the Lustgarten

200g de queijo fatiado
200g de paio fatiado
50g de barriga fumada fatiada
coentros

8) Fatiar o rolo e servir imediatamente.

Eins

{ veal stew with carrots and mushrooms }

With traditional flavours from my home country, this veal stew is uncomplicated and very tasty. You should definitely buy good quality veal and seal it well in the beginning as to obtain the best results. When done right, veal meat cooks itself to be very tender and in this dish that goes just right with the sweetness of the carrots.

A Matter of Taste

{ best lasagna recipe }

Lasagna is a dish that will please mostly anyone and that you can constantly change and improve - it is so versatile! There are some killer filling combinations, and you can always adapt it to your own liking, or your guests'. One may think it is not a quick meal to prepare, but it freezes really well, so you can make it in advance and even enjoy it on a weekday dinner. This is one of my favourite versions, with beef meat, vegetables - and the trick - cinnamon and nutmeg.
