you smell like love.

{ dark chocolate sugar cookies with tender rose hearts }

These vibrant coloured cookies are super fun to make, it feels like playing with play-doh! They take some time, but they are tremendoulsy easy to make and I love how everything worked out so well, especially since I made up the recipe from scratch! They are perfect for Valentine's Day, or for any other occasion, and you can dye and flavour them according to your preferences or what you have on your pantry. And hey, I had chocolate and roses - what a cliché! Isn't it such a coincidence? If you're looking for something pretty, original and fun for this Valentine's, you've come to the right place!

say it sweetly.

{ lemon poppy seed alphabet sugar cookies }

Alphabet shaped cookies are astoundingly fun to make... and to eat! You can even write messages or play games like crosswords, soup of letters or scrabble with them! They are perfect for engaging children in the kitchen and this particular batter is plain gorgeous. Plus the lemon and poppy seed combo is an all-time favourite everybody will love. If you feel like it, decorate them with some lemon glaze, but they are already delicious on their own. Appetizing brain exercise, to eat by the handful.

If someone told me they would be baking sugar cookies in a day in which the thermometers rose above 35ºC, I would definitely forever label them as crazy. And yet, ironically, that's exactly what I ended up doing.

sweet tooth for tiramisu? i got you covered.

{ tiramisu for one }

this was actually not planned at all.

i didn't plan to make this dessert.
it came to me through my friend Lola.
she made tiramisu yesterday,
and, for some reason, the idea of it sticked to the back of my mind,
causing such weird and growing tingling sensation,
that i even had to add ladyfingers to my shopping cart.

i didn't plan to make this post.
i actually had two other recipes on the blog waiting list,
but i thought this one deserved a place here too,
and it had to be as soon as possible.

wait no longer - they're here and they're a handful.

{ three takes on the perfect thin, chewy and crisp cookie }

i know you've been waiting for this.
not one, not two, but THREE flavours of COOKIES.

and today i'm not even going to say much.

i am just going to say that you should definitely grab this recipe,
run to the kitchen, turn on your favourite music
- for me it was Hozier all along -
grab all the things you need
and just get your hands dirty with loads of butter and flour.

it will take a while, but it is, indeed,

totally worth it.

another little piece of my heart

{ heart-shaped white chocolate and peanut sugar cookies }

During my last trip back to Munich I was planning to watch the latest episode of Bones. In order to do so, I had left the streaming open all night long, to ensure there would be no problem during the flight. However, it seems like the episode didn't download entirely, for I have been in the ignorance about who the killer was since then. Almost halfway through the flight but still waiting for lunch, I decided to go for plan B, and go through my files in the quest for a film. Unluckily - or should I say the opposite - I had no films I felt I could stomach at the moment. Somehow, I ended up rewatching Pride and Prejudice and I have been watching it bit by bit until today, when it made me cry over my pasta bowl at lunch. Seriously, that thing is bewitching.
So I could find no better moment to blog about this cookies, I dare to say. If I were you, I'ld go, whip up a batch of these hearts first, get some tissues ready too, and watch it straightway.

Sesame & Poppy

{ parmesan biscuits with seeds }

Abri-o e ele cativou-me logo pelas fotografias.
